Bobette Stanbridge has written and illustrated several Children's Books that she calls "The Bobette's Bunky Series". All of her books contain thoughtful sayings on each illustration with stories that teach young children. These books were written as a child's guide to live a healthy and abundant life.
Bobette Stanbridge is a native Californian who lived in upstate New York in the 80's. She attended the LA Art Center College of Design in the early 70's. The school is currently in Pasadena California. She attended her last semester there while she was pregnant with her son Brahman in 1974. At that same time she was hired by a company to create characters to be put onto quilts, pillows, t-shirts, tote bags and other items and sold in major department stores nationally. She put her characters aside and went into selling Real Estate to support her family and raise her children. Bobette never stopped creating although she complained that it wasn't enough. She left California to spend less time selling real estate and to give her the time to focus on her creativity.
One of the projects she did while in California was to create a theme for the Ventura Harbor Village. She chose colors and designed an ocean animal theme for the buildings. She has owned her own sign shop and supergraphic business, worked for sign companies, painted murals, and designed corporate identities commercially but has painted and drawn hundreds of pieces of artwork throughout her life. One day her daughter saw her characters and told her to do something with them and so 2 years ago she began putting them into stories and then illustrated the stories. She is self published.
